Medellin, a short Visit.

HI,  mi name is David A Mosquera, i'm a student of english class level VII, and im going to talk About Medellin.

i’m going to start to talking about the general information from Medellin, therefore you can learn about where is located this city and a certainly information about this city.

Medellin is a Colombian city, is the capital of the department of Antioquia and is located along the Medellin River in central Aburrá Valley, a narrow valley of the Central Cordillera of the Andes where also located eight municipalities, forming the Medellin metropolitan area.

Culturally, Medellin has 10 national tourist sites, but i’m going to talking about the Museum of Antioquia, Botero Square, the Pueblito Paisa and the park Pies Descalsos, places that I visited on my short trip to Medellin time ago.

At the first day in this city, because my friends and me had the great idea to go in car, we wasted the first day trying to rest the several travel that lasted around 8 hours or more i can’t remember exactly how long was. But at the next day we wake up early in the morning and we decided to drive to each possible museum or cultural center. So we start with Botero Square.

Botero Square

Me with A friend.

Me with a 2 friends.

“The Sculpture Park is a museum in Medellín outdoor exhibit, located in the heart of the city.” I found this text about Botero park and i think that could be interesting how described this location as the text say, and i agree because at the first glance of the park i can see the big sculptures located  one by one in the middle of the city, in the downtown, and how the people and the buildings make a space to exhibit their cultural heritage. This park has about 23 sculptures made for “El Maestro Botero”.

An interesting way to resolve the “dark past” of this area, transformed into a place of entertainment and fun that reflects the people of the city.

I have some pictures that i want to show. ...... (pictures)

Hahaha, a funny pic of my 2 friends.

Museum of Antioquia

Then, near to the Botero park is located Museum of Antioquia. This is a big antique structure, and in this place conserve the whole story of Medellin. We can saw a different type of art, like sculptures, painting and installations.

Pueblito Paisa

We were hungry after visited this places, and walk around the monuments and all. So we had to decide where we would go to lunch, and we had heard about Pueblito Paisa by others tourists who were close, we asked them and they said where is located this tourist place.

We had to drive some 30 mn to 1 hour, because had a lot of traffic in the highways. Then we arrived at Pueblito Paisa. Its a small place to recreate the villa of Antioquia, so it have some 9 to 10 houses, where are the chapel, some place to buy gifts, a monument of Tomas Carrasquilla, and its a nice place to visited.

Unfortunately  to that time the battery of the camera was discharged and we lost the opportunity to take us picture in that beautiful place.

Pies Descalzos

“An oasis in the middle of the City”
Like Botero Square, this park represent the recuperation of the city to the public space and the unity of the people of Medellin. This park contains a large space with water to submerge your feets a few, some water sources.

When we arrive to this place, we see a lot of people, tourist from different age, and enjoyed this place as their own. We didn't had interested in go and run like the people who wa inside the water, but we noticed about the space and the way that the people of were in that place enjoy that ambient than unusual and amazing place in the middle of the city.

Conclution

Probably after reading about my experience in this short trip, may you have wanted to visit this beautiful and great city. I hope so, you will not repent of anything and will can  a very pleasant trip, Medellin has much to offer to you.
